Kualoa Regional Park

Cool View of Chinaman’s Hat Island

Kualoa Beach Park is located in Kāneʻohe Bay across the road from Kualoa Ranch. It’s a large beach park, popular for camping and the spectacular view of Mokoli’i Island, aka Chinaman’s Hat. It’s a good place to look for shells and to watch the black crabs climbing on the stone wall. The sand is coarse, and not as fine and soft as most of the beaches we visited. If you do wade out into the water, wear water shoes because it’s quite rocky. While, we didn’t find it it to be a great swimming beach, we did see several people fishing. Kayaking and paddle boarding out to Chinaman’s Hat is a favorite activity for visitors. Some people even try to walk or swim out to it during low tide.
